Tensions Rise
-Anglo colonists started to outnumber Mexican settlers 10 to 1.
-People in Texas started to not follow Mexico's laws, but their own. This was made possible by the Constitution of 1824, which gave the colonists state's rights or the power to make their own laws.
-Mexican officials started to worry that Texas was becoming too independent.
